HIV/AIDS Awareness

Due to the increase and impact of HIV/AIDS scourge in Uganda, MIFA realized the critical need to start a program to support sponsored children’s guardians who are infected and affected with AHIV/AIDS. In 2007 these guardians were mobilized to form an association, MIFA Bazadde Positive Association (MBAPA) in 2007.

Members of the Association meet on a monthly basis to interact and share information about their health, livelihoods and spiritual needs. They also carry out income generating activities including handcraft, making beads, cookery animal rearing, crop production and mushroom growing among the many. The funds realized from the group activities are used to support the women in their economic enterprises at household level.
