Child Development

MIFA’s core program is Child and Family Development that focuses on the educational development of the vulnerable child and support to the family. By donating Euros 30 per month to our Child and Family Development Program you are helping to solve the education crisis in Uganda and to give young people the tools which will help them succeed.  The child you sponsor will be able to afford tuition, school uniforms,  text books and the other school materials which are required for all individuals to attend school.

On average MIFA Child and Family Development Program helps 520 needy orphans per year to gain access to quality education by linking them to willing sponsors in and outside Uganda.  The students access quality education at primary, secondary and tertiary institutions including universities. The children get other benefits like medical treatment, counseling and spiritual nurturing. MIFA endeavors to keep track of children who have successfully gone through the program through the Alumni Association.  A number of Alumni are supporting MIFA programs as volunteers and some have shown interest in sponsoring needy children.

Family Development

Joan and her grandmother receive a goat donation.

Most of the children’s guardians live below the poverty line, i.e. their income is below Euro 1.00 a day rendering them unable to meet their basic social needs. They need to be supported economically so as to live meaningful and sustainable lives.  By donating Euros 100 you can help a family start an income generating project that will enable them to cater for the family needs and the children’s school requirements.

“Tusanyuka nnyo bwe tuwulira nti muli balamu bulungi. Katonda tumusaba abakuume. MIFA y’ettaala yaffe. Ky’ekitangaala kyaffe ekituyamba okwanganga ensi”

literally translated to

“… we are always happy to hear that you are healthy. May the good Lord keep you safely. MIFA became our light. We are now able to face the world and its challenges….”

The above is part of a testimonial statement from one of our former sponsored child UN 1071 Herman Kibuuka. Herman lost his parents and fell into the hands of his paternal Auntie who later brought him to MIFA. His sponsor Christian Kuck took him through school. Herman preferred to join Motor Mechanics after his Primary Leaving Examinations and completed the course up to Certificate level. The sponsor gave him a startup kit in form of a complete Motor Mechanic Tool Box. They also paid for his Driving permit.

After working as a support driver with cargo trucks for about four years, he found his way to Abu Dhabi in 2021 where he now works as a Driver. He is able to send some support to his family at home and earn himself a living. We praise God for the transformation of Herman’s life.
